Alkesh Kumar Sharma, CEO, DMIC Development Corporation has visited Dholera smart city on 13th May 2016 and post evaluating the development in the city has told 'Business Standard' reporters that the region shall be ready by September 2016 for land to be allotted to anchor investors. Mr. Sharma added that 'The aim of the DMICDC is to ensure world-class construction to attract world-class investors and to create a world-class city.'
The land allotment policy for the region shall be devised shortly for smooth land allocation as confirmed by Ajay Bhadoo, CEO, and Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board. The authority is overlooking the development of Dholera.
22 Sq. Km area also known as the activation area has been allotted by state government for development of trunk infrastructure components in the region. The initial infrastructure built here is expected to act as a catalyst for attracting investments in the region and allows faster development across the entire area measuring 920 Sq. Kms.
Dholera is being anticipated as a global trading and manufacturing hub and is expected to double the employment, triple industrial output and quadruple exports in the region. Mr. Sharma who visited the Volvo Experience Centre at Gothenburg, Sweden told India's 'Financial Express' that 8 smart cities are capable of generating hybrid energy through a vibrant mix of solar, biogas, wind and tidal which shall make development of electric vehicles viable in them.

Dholera project is one of the special investmen
t node on the DMIC corridor. 23 other nodes have been identified which shall fast track development of the corridor. Aecom, a US based consultancy firm has been awarded $30 million contract for implementation of the development plan in Dholera. As per the agency, the city shall feature basic infrastructure and civic amenities by 2019 and shall be a host to 1 million population by such time.
Dholera shall enjoy a world class connectivity on both national and international front. Apart from a 10 lane expressway which shall connect it to Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar, An international
airport, railways and high speed metro rail is also on cards.
To boost the investments in the city and make it a high tech manufacturing zone in the next five years, DMIDC has started looking out for foreign partners for fund raising. Consultants in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany and Sweden have been approached and quotation for selection of partners for specific project shall be released this month.
