Smart Dholera and Dholera Smart city: The ongoing projects from Smart Homes are being looked upon as ones that shall be home to many of the one lakh people who shall reside in Dholera by 2019.

Dholera, the first smart city and biggest Greenfield project of India is developing at a rapid pace. In a recent announcement from Mr. Ajay Bhadoo, MD, Dholera SIR, the city shall be populated with 1 lakh people, quite a contrast to meager thousands currently. Going by predicted statistics, by 2040, the population shall multiply manifold and reach a whopping 2 million. 

Can you imagine the kind of housing demand the city shall raise with such growing numbers? Currently estimated at 5 lakhs, it can extend much beyond as the city develops into a global trading and manufacturing hub and attracts an increasing number of people to move in for livelihood and better living standards.

Smart Homes has pledged to meet a part of the demand of Dholera by constructing 20,000 homes in the smart city within tenure of 10 years starting 2016 and ending 2025. While it shall continue to build homes beyond such period, the targeted cities shall be the 100 smart cities of India, where Smart Homes aspires to build 1 lakh residential housing units. 

Initial phases of Smart Dholera and Dholera Smart city, the current projects of Smart Homes in Dholera have been completed and are available for purchase while work is in progress on the other phases of the project. Both projects offer wide array of options including value apartments, villas, bungalows and residential plots at competitive costs and one may choose from them depending upon their personal preferences.

Dholera, besides being the first smart city is also the pet project of Mr. Narendra Modi and thus supported in full vigor by the state and central government. With continued funding and positive decisions in favor of the city, it has become the fastest developing region of India.

The city aspires to be developed six times the size of Shanghai with the help of internationally renowned architects and state of art infrastructure plan. It shall also be well connected through all transit means and has a six lane expressway, high speed metro rail for urban transportation, national highway and extended railway route approved in its master plan. Dholera international airport shall also connect the city worldwide and is expected to get constructed by 2020.

L&T has been appointed for development of roads and services in the region, Cube Constructions Engineering Ltd. for construction of ABCD complex and Wipro Technologies as a consultancy agency for planning and deployment of ICT in Dholera SIR.
